The Whole Story - 2010 Census
|
|
|
|
The Census Bureau is working
hard to reach every person living in America to inform
them and their communities about the importance of the
2010 Census. This Web site is the platform on which we can
build a national dialogue about how each person’s
participation helps paint a new “Portrait of America.”
Spread the word to your family, friends and neighbors
about why the 2010 Census matters. The census is now in
your hands.

Call 311 Today. . . Every Minute Counts!
Even though stabilizing over the past few years, Baltimore City still has a relatively high foreclosure rate, which negatively impacts working families and neighborhoods. But now, through the efforts of the
Baltimore Homeownership Preservation Coalition (BHPC), citizens that are having trouble paying their mortgage have access to free and immediate help by calling the City's 311 Call Center. When citizens call 311 they will be transferred to a national hotline (1-888-995-HOPE) where HUD-approved nonprofit counselors are available 24/7 to provide free assistance and information. Please call 311 Today. . . Every Minute Counts.

Gardens and Education
(click on photos to see larger image) |

Christina
Kirkland is a gardener with two green thumbs! She grows
beautiful flowers, beautiful vegetables, beautiful children,
beautiful strawberries. Furthermore, her love of
gardening is contagious and spreading rapidly. Recently,
her services were volunteered by her daughter
Dorcas at Edmondson Heights Elementary School. She
taught three beginning
classes about beginning skills in growing plants. There
was learning in the classroom and more learning on field trips
to the Franklintown neighborhood. Three busloads of
kindergartners visited both the gardens in Leakin Park and our
own Carmine Gardens. |
